Amazing Children Uganda provides school scholarships for children and young people living or working on the streets in Uganda. Our aim is to give each child the chance to fulfil their potential, transform their lives and take their place in society through education.

We are a growing charity, run entirely by volunteers, and registered with the Charities Commission. Your gift of bonus points, kindly matched by Garraways, (or donation or sponsorship), would go directly to provide schooling, accommodation and medical support to benefit the children since we have very low administration costs.  The children respond with amazing results, including University admission for a law degree, and also use their education to help other street children.

We identify street children who have the motivation and capacity to benefit from education; we look for sponsors; and we identify high quality boarding schools. While the children are waiting for scholarships we provide some basic skills training, together with some arts and sports activities, so they become, and remain, ready to make the most of the opportunity when it comes. We work with partners who can provide the other basic needs of the children for food, shelter and health care until they go to school.

Once in school we monitor the progress of each child and we provide funding for food and shelter in the school holidays so they do not have to go back to the streets to survive. On leaving full time education we may provide an independence grant so the young person can start up a sustainable income generating activity.
