Feeling glum? A cup of your favourite coffee may help.
Studies have revealed that caffeine may help focus your mind on positivity and may even reduce the risk of depression.
A 2012 study looking into the effects of caffeine and the recognition of positive words shows that subjects who had 200 milligrams of caffeine were able to spot positive words such as ‘happy’ more accurately, compared to those who took a lactose pill placebo. (1)
There are many other studies that have shown caffeine may boost creativity and positivity but most researchers feel that further investigation is needed to confirm these findings.
